I got turned onto Fireworks a long time ago and never looked back. I used to use PS but found FW to be much easier. It now can pretty much do anything PS can do. The only major problem I have with it is that I can't get it to work with Linux. I hate Microsoft! FW is the only program I can't do away with.

As a web developer, one day I realized that I have been drawing in Fireworks web elements that CSS and a browser can already do. I also found it hard to find frameworks like jquery ui and Twitter bootstrap drawn for FW. So I decided to create my own web page and web app creator that web developers can use in place of Fireworks. Check it out at http://meldbox.net please. It's still a ways off from a full on replacement of Fireworks but I'm getting closer with each new version which is currently at 1.3. Give it a go and let me know what you think.
