Red Garter Club Blog Multisite : Myopia, Thy Middle Name Is Shelley: Ministress Lubben Reacts To Cambridge Debate Debacle

Thanks! I do understand about the "righteous path" mentality but I try to hope for better from people. As far as her comment about Johnny, he saw his first flick when he was 16. Oh the shock! Especially considering he's from a country where that's the age of consent! Quelle horreur! Please do go over Dines' myopia. I heard from several people in attendance that Dines' lies were what turned them in our favor, not necessarily Lubben's weirdness.

"By her illogical and dangerous belief, pedophiles and rapists should be seen as doing a good public service because they are merely seeking sexual pleasure." So there's thing called 'consent' that is the ultimate deciding factor of good vs. bad sexuality in my eyes. All other pleasure is pretty much awesome. I wish I could comment on her blog about her "illogical and dangerous" extrapolation. And yes, I saw my first porn when I was about 12 or 13. The point of the statistic I presented about age of first exposure was that young people start seeking out sexually explicit materials when they start sexually maturing. I was a very early bloomer and already had my shame inducing boobies at that point. Sex interested me because I was sexually maturing and flush with hormones. I'm also a little irked that NO-ONE can comment on her "blog". She's doing a great job encouraging dialogue.

Hooking Up Smart : The Nice Guy Dilemma

When I wrote that, I wasn't talking about how *I* would characterize a nice guy. (All my guy friends are nice and very few of them are socially-neutered aka shy). I'm talking about the nice guy occupying our social imaginations when we say "nice guys finish last." The stereotype of "nice guy" that we see in movies and stories. This is the nice guy Matt Savage is talking about when he says: "These guys need to learn how to grow a spine and live life for themselves, not aimlessly rambling along trying to please every woman that crosses their path." The bigger point is that we imagine spinelessness and niceness to be mutually inclusive. They aren't. I hope that makes more sense. My wording with that statement confused several comments on my own blog though, so I wanted to clarify. My bad. Sorry.
