I try to read sequels as close together as possible but I don't always succeed. Depending on the genre, I can usually binge all the books in a row (like romances because they focus on different leads in each novel) but for non-contemporary reads, I usually try to read something else in between before diving into the sequel. I find that especially with audiobook series because it can get tiring listening to the same narrator for 20+ hours when you read all the books one after another.

I created a personal challenge for myself to read one sequel a week for the year. I have so many series on the go that its slightly embarrassing because a lot have been completed for a while :$ Best of luck with this one!

I definitely have that weird thing where the closer the ARC dates get, the less I want to read them. I think I start feeling this pressure to meet the deadline and so it turns me off reading them. I've made an effort over this last year to only have one or two ARCs on the go at a time and set my own "release date" so I read the books earlier than I need to.

Though I don't blame you with Brooklyn Nine-Nine--I think it is one of the most underrated TV shows out there. It's absolutely hilarious!

I read Graceling years ago at the suggestion of a coworker and loved it! But I never got around to reading the sequels because time got in the way.

The Precious Stone Trilogy is worth a read. I really enjoyed them and they don't take very long to get through.

I've seen some slightly mixed reviews on this one for a lot of the things you noted--but I'm glad you enjoyed it in the end. Sometimes by giving a book a chance, you give it the opportunity to surprise you!

Not if I See you First sounds really intriguing but I'm not sure if I can handle what appears to be a serious case of angst...hmm maybe if my library has a copy I'll take a chance on it. Great reviews!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who wasn't sure of the supernatural elements. I think the book would be much more solid if it excluded that particular element. It often left me confused and not in a good way.

This book was just missing that little something to blow me away. I'm glad the last half was faster and I'm hoping the sequel will build on that.

Great review!

If you loved Vampire Academy, I highly recommend the Bloodlines series! It starts slower (especially the first book) but it really picks up near the end!
