Hi. Just popped into say how I jumped up and down and screamed when I watched the ending. I didn't ship Korrasami in the beginning, but over time, I kind of low-key shipped it(well I also multiship so maybe I'm just super lenient about my ships) because it was really easy to see it happening. I mean, as someone who didn't really care much about the ships in LoK I have to question anyone who thought there was no hints or build up. Or people who claimed that Korrasami shippers were reaching or whatever. I don't remember searching for anything, and I definitely saw it. At the same time, I never thought the creators would intentionally make it canon, and I always felt bad for people who were SERIOUSLY shipping it, because I felt like it would never happen "for real." But yeah I'm glad I was wrong! I also spent a fair amount of time looking up reaction videos on youtube. It's great fun.

I LOVE Ryan Hansen's video so much. All of his kickstarter videos are awesome.

For me, it actually upsets me even more? Like, the show up to this point has done an at least decent job at criticizing rape culture, and it's pretty much all, except in name, a very feminist show. To do this is almost like a slap in the face, as if the writers believed in feminist ideas but got scared when people started calling the show feminist or something, so they decided to write a storyline just to go "Oh, but we're not FEMINISTS" or "We're not like THOSE feminists!" and putting the most stereotypical and unsympathetic straw feminists on the show to prove their point or to contrast with the protagonist as the "good" kind of feminist. That's just how I feel, though.

well.. even though you were totally off-base, the fact that you were so excited about it is kind of endearing

The climax of the episode where Keith and Aaron fight, and then Keith catches on fire to rescue Veronica, and she putting out the fire telling her Dad she loves him, etc... It always makes me cry. I remember how much i kept thinking the first time I saw the season finale "THEY JUST LOVE EACH OTHER SOOO MUCCCH *sobs uncontollably* Their love is so overwhelmingly shajkfhlala. Also, Kristen Bell does scared really well -- and the situation Veronica was in is so terrifying it just sends chills up my spine, and she really did a good job of making me believe it, fuck.

On another note, I find it refreshing to see a mother-daughter relationship like Veronica and Lianne's. It's heartbreaking of course, but I also think it's beneficial to have a representation of mother-daughter relationship that *isn't* perfect or very good at all with a positive daughter/protagonist that viewers can relate to. I think tv and film, and well, our society in general, puts a lot of weight in particular in how ~wonderful~ mother-daughter relationships are, and I feel like it puts a lot of pressure on mothers and daughters to have perfect, wonderful, sparkly relationships. And mothers are rarely shown as BAD mothers in fiction. But I know my relationship with my mom wasn't always so perfect, any many young women are really affected when they feel they don't have a relationship with their mother that's supposed to fit the "ideal," especially those with neglectful mothers.

This episode is super strange to me, becasue when I was on my high school newspaper, we *also* had a bomb threat at my school. The difference being it was kind of our fault. We sold "valentine day grams" where people could send a short valentine's message in our paper for a small fee, and somehow, a very vague message about how "the day is coming" or something along those lines and a random date I can't even remember anymore got through. A parent panicked ,reported it to the local news, everyone freaked out, and people didn't show up to school. There wasn't a bomb, but it did result in our principal never letting us print anything ever again without her reading it and giving her permission first. And my newspaper advisor was already great at censorship (she wouldn't let me print my political cartoon depicting george bush negatively because it might upset republicans or smth). So I kind of have a huge disdain for people who want to censor school papers.

But anyway.. No one has mentioned the Logan x Veronica ship name yet!! "LoVe" -- isn't it the best??? :3 though, their kiss totally came out of nowhere imo, even though I knew ahead of time they eventually got together. All the Veronica Mars fans spoiled me when Ringer was airing!

My school didn't celebrate valdedictorians. Instead, we had a Mr. and Mrs. Rebel (our mascot... don't ask) -- one boy and girl that teachers nominated and voted for that they believe demonstrated well-roundedness. So it based on more than grades, but their contribution to the school through sports, extracurriculars, and their personality. Of course, there was still drama about that (since it was ultimately decided by the administration there was talk about suck-ups and teachers pets or people being disqualified for unfair reasons), but i still thought it was a much better way to recognize student achievement that wasn't about something so... meaningless. Because being a good student isn't always about getting good grades. And there was never and desperate competition for the best grades. Like we all know WHO had the highest grades but no one got too heated over it. And all nominees for Mr. and Mrs. Rebel were still recognized.

First of all, the word "rape" is rarely used at all on t.v. and such because just speaking the word aloud is very controversial and stirs a lot of emotions. Most of the time, they will replace it with something like the phrase "sexual assault." Even I do it, because it makes me uncomfortable to use "rape" so much. Although it probably should be used less apologetically in episodes such as this, because we need to just start calling rape what it is -- rape. Not "something kind of maybe close to it but we're not sure if it is or not" -- because it leads to ridiculous nonsense like this.

This is a work of fiction. One with a message. No, maybe they never uttered the exact word -- but the writers had a story to tell, and the entire message of this particular story was that our society does not treat or take victims of rape and sexual assault seriously. It was not a story about a "destructive relationship," it's about rape.

Their message was that creeps like Mr. Rooks exist, and that society will almost always side with him in a situation like this. They never say the word "rape" but the message is ABOUT rape and how our culture sees rape and how we fail victims of rape. How you cannot see that the story is about rape is beyond me.

You're somehow suggesting because there isn't a *FICTIONAL* detailed account of what exactly went down to argue that it *might* not have been rape... trying to argue what you're arguing is completely contradictory to the message the show is trying to send and it means you have missed the point of it completely, tbh.
