I did bring the proof, through his own words and his baptism. I'm sorry that you disagree, but Christianity does have a large umbrella, with Pentacostals, Catholics, Baptists, Episcopals, and Church of Christ members.

You have no evidence to state that his conversion was not real, and the Bible does make statements to the effect of us being very careful when we state that a professed believer is really not a Christian. Can you please show me where he actually expressed to Muslim countries that he was a Muslim?

Every single Christian I know continues to sometimes say things that are not true. As we grow to become more like Jesus, we sin less and less, which includes lying. In what ways do you believe Obama to lie? I also think that you are presenting a bit of circular reasoning in this argument, which is, of course, a logical fallacy.

There is a wealth of evidence of people whose parents were Muslims and who converted to Christ. Please read the story of David Nasser, who is now a Christian evangelist. We cannot possibly think that he is still a Muslim. God's law is greater than Sharia law. President Obama had nothing to do with his name. He was named by his father. As for the National Prayer Breakfast, President Obama attended this year's on February 4, so I don't know what you are talking about (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/02/04/AR2010020401728.html - to back up my ridiculous claim.) As for bowing, President Obama did what was culturally acceptable. Following cultural conventions is not submission, or do we need to remember when President George W. Bush actually kissed one of the Saudi leaders on the cheek?

We all have lied. The Bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. It also says that a person who confesses and believes is a Christian. That is where forgiveness and redemption come in. God's law is higher than man's law.

Please read the trilogy of Civil Rights history by Taylor Branch - Parting the Waters, Pillar of Fire, and At Canaan's Edge. These books span almost 3000 pages and are the most documented works of civil rights research that has been written. I believe that you will learn a lot from this, and you will see quite clearly that the "Dixiecrats" were no progressives. Those standing in the way of civil rights legislation were people such as Strom Thurmond, who quickly changed parties after the bill was passed. By the way, here were the votes: Southern Democrats: 7–87 (7%–93%) Southern Republicans: 0–10 (0%–100%) Northern Democrats: 145-9 (94%–6%) Northern Republicans: 138-24 (85%–15%) The Senate version: Southern Democrats: 1–20 (5%–95%) Southern Republicans: 0–1 (0%–100%) Northern Democrats: 45-1 (98%–2%) Northern Republicans: 27-5 (84%–16%) It was the location, not the party, that had everything to do with standing against the legislation. Knowledge is power.

I will say that he is a Christian. All evidence, including his own story, supports that. In fact, during the campaign, it was President Obama, and not Senator McCain, who was able to speak about his salvation experience. Did you get a chance to see the conversation on religion that was held by Rick Warren?

It is amazing how people will go out of their way to deny Dr. King's position on things such as social justice, peace, and even liberalism. People seem to forget how he went after income inequality after the passing of the 1964. They forget his stance on the war. They forget that he was a follower of liberal Christianity, which holds ideals very different from many in the Tea Party movement. They gloss over his theology's similarities with liberation theology. Please read, people.
