N2Growth Blog : Leadership Interview - John Maxwell

"Faith in business simply places core values where they should be in the hierarchy of leadership principles" Totally - this is SO good. I've read it before, but glad to read it again. Thanks for this Mike. I also understand all the more why your hierarchy works compared to other ones that place, say goals, first.

N2Growth Blog : Leadership Interview - John Maxwell

lol - I hope so! Thanks for the kind words Mike. I really enjoyed this post - especially your remarks about John uniting faith with leadership. It's sad to see in the social media arena there are many people who hide their faith. I have so, so many people who privately tell me how much they support me because I make no division between my faith and work - and it upsets me that they feel that they can't be vocal themselves. I find this is a negative trait of social media in particular - it's ok to "be you" as long as you don't have any strong convictions of faith (of course, unless it's about Mac of PC! :-)

Must confess, I'm finding Chrome for Mac very unstable. Anyways - I know Idio very well who have developed some excellent Chrome extensions, like the one at telegraph.co.uk The traffic, they say, is through the roof. Ask @andjdavies for details if you need them

Michael Hyatt Blog : Book Giveaway: Everyone Communicates, Few Connect by John C. Maxwell

I met John at a Pastors convention many years ago in the UK. I'd read plenty of his books and was curious to see whether in the flesh he was not only who he modeled as being a leader, but had a depth to him as a Christian leader than went deeper than just the message I'd heard. When I met him, both were confirmed. From then on, I began to connect with people on a deeper level, understanding that it had been that connection I had with John that had moved me the most towards leadership. Since then, I've been saying over and over that CONNECTION TRUMPS COMMUNITY. (http://scottgould.me/are-you-build-community-or-connections/) Well, John has now written the book that is not only my catch phrase the past years, but but also the example of our relationship. Reading this book I'm sure will provide another pivotal moment that will give birth to a new direction in my life! That's why I should get this book :-)

N2Growth Blog : Social Media Demystified

Hi Mike, et al, I do agree - Social Media is largely common sense, and unfortunately, many forget to employ this, coupled with the fact that many are inauthentic when it comes to Social Media as well. One important point for me is separating Broadcast Media from Social Media. If we do so, then we have a clearer understanding. I think this is where a lot of the mystifying comes from - an inherent misunderstanding of what Social is compared to Broadcast. But in the essence and application of most of this, the more I talk it through, the more I do realise how it really just is common sense! Scott

N2Growth Blog : Why Pricing Matters

Hi Mike Thanks for the encouragement. My issue is that my clientele is very small, and I'm not much of a sales man. Hence Like Minds was designed to remedy that! A nice bit of head fake marketing... Thanks again for the encouragement. It means a lot - it really does.

N2Growth Blog : Why Pricing Matters

Hi Mike Thanks for this. I continually struggle with getting pricing right - if I'm to be really honest. I have the issue of being in Exeter (where people question anything that isn't free), and then having work in London where I end up underpricing! Live and learn. This encourages me. Luckily I've gained some more profile this last week so the perception of my pricing is more justifiable.
