When the Cartoon Network logo comes up, there's an animatic showing the Gems tossing Steven to each other. That's what those sound effects are.

The beautiful thing about this song is the way it ties together a major underlying theme of the show. So many of the relationships in the show are defined by the feeling that one is unworthy of love from the other person, that this could be nearly anyone singing and it would work.

I can relate to this. I actually half-forgot about Trotcon until the reminders started showing up, and at first I was lukewarm on the programming, but given a day or so I was able to rekindle some interest and enjoy a lot of cool panels and Q&As.

Communism? On the contrary, those symbols of political equality strongly suggest that these ponies have fallen to the scourge of democracy! PRINCESS Twilight Sparkle and her Friendship Nobility are going to have to remind them that some ponies are just better than others.

I will keep following pony fan artists on deviantArt as long as they keep making pony fan art (and for some of them, perhaps even longer than that). I don't know if I'll still go to conventions once the show is over, though.

I don't mean "peer pressure" in the Saturday-morning edutainment sense of a bunch of bullies shoving a can into your hand and telling you to drink.

I mean it in the broader sense that you do it to be sociable with other people who drink in a variety of settings where drinking is a matter of choice. I mean it in the sense that when you take that first sip, you believe everyone telling you that it's really good and that you'll learn to like it instead of going with your first impression that it tastes terrible. And if it's not a group of personal friends then it's the broader cultural message that moderate drinking is not just acceptable but positive and fun.

Because why else would you keep drinking something that tastes bad and has next to no nutritional content?

You start drinking coffee because you need stimulants and eventually develop a taste for it.

You start drinking beer because of peer pressure and eventually develop a taste for it.
