Hehe...well, my 'family doctor' was truly family --- my dad was my GP growing up. We would of course go to other doctors for some things but usual illnesses etc were always seen to by dad. Then I moved out of home to Australia and found a wonderful GP only 4 years after I moved here. Sadly, I've had to leave her behind with my move in October. Still looking for one in the new area. You do need GPs you trust!

That's so nice you got to spend an afternoon with another blogger --- love the blogging world for that! It never ceases to amaze me how we can get along so well with people we've never met. :) Hope your Chrissy was wonderful and you're looking forward to the new year!

As much as parents may want to protect us from making mistakes, eventually, they have to let us go to learn on our own and to be independent. As you said, one day, we will be without them. Then what?

Loved the rhymes you used and the way you used the prompt!

Ouch! No thank you...I'll opt out of this.

Beauty treatment?? The only thing I get done is my eyebrows --- I get them threaded and they hurt like crazy!

I think the context is important here. While I do agree about standing up for ourselves and telling sleazebags off, in a work situation {which is where Mel was}, it's harassment and calling them names back to their face would only jeopardise the woman's integrity and profession.

As much as I am empowered, growing up I was subject to a lot of harassment and even molestation in India. Sometimes you didn't know who it was, sometimes you were too afraid of further repercussions. In India, it was choosing to be touched and groped over being raped sometimes. There was always the fear that if you said something, it could escalate their anger. I am more assertive now than before but I would judge the context before I said something. If I was on public transport, I'd speak out. If I was walking by myself on a quiet street, I'd probably ignore and keep walking.

Interesting story...almost like one of those animated movies.

I didn't know kookaburras stole sausages! They seem like such polite and respectful birds laughing and looking down on the others. Didn't think they'd stoop so low. Tsk, tsk,

Guess you could always try another picnic at another creek? More excuses for another romantic picnic.
