I always hear this critique about feminism, but no one has taken the time out to explain what they mean by this, like what are those "untended consequences?" The so-called breakdown of the family? Men and women feeling like they don't know what their roles are? O_O

What about Zafina from Tekken 6? As I'm aware I hear she's supposed to be Middle Eastern. Just wondering about that. :P

Also other POC I think of in video games would be Barret from Final Fantasy 7 and Sazh Katzroy from Final Fantasy 13. They're the only ones I can think of at the top of my head. Though they kind of come off somewhat stereotypically. :/

Ever noticed when someone says the "gay lifestyle" they don't explain what that means?

"I'm white and I've been treated horribly by POC. So I know what it's like to experience oppression."
Usually a white person who thinks their hurt feelings is somehow the same as experiencing systematic oppression.

"Wow, you're so articulate."
O_o Don't know why I still get that.

"Why should it matter what ethnicity the actors are? What's important is they do a good job."
On whitewashing.

I said it before, and I'll say it again. Getting your feelings hurt by POC with words like "paleface, honky" doesn't=oppression or racism. Yes I see how it's hurtful, but you know what's really hurtful and basically crushing? Being oppressed, knowing that no matter what you do or how much you've accomplished you'll always be at a disadvantage. People will always make assumptions about you.

Yeah sorry, getting your feelings hurt by "mean 'ol POC" isn't racism.

Great post! Came here through Womanist Musings.

From what I noticed, these marriage pushers never emphasize love, feeling connected, or any form of emotional development. It's all about just getting married and nothing more. It's no wonder why there's a high divorce rate, even though marriage these days it's supposed to be about love and companionship, the economic and social pressure of getting married remains to be a powerful force.

Yeah I'm not a fan of Jezebel.
I also think many feminists quickly forget that children are an oppressed classed. After all, it wasn't that long ago where children were thought of as property. Let's also not forget the number of children living poverty, dying from preventable diseases, and among other things.

For me, you can't call yourself pro-choice and disparage a woman's choice to be a mother.

So women aren't allowed to be angry? Oh that's right, anger scares men off. *rolls eyes* And the slut shaming in the piece? Don't even get me started. *smh*
