It's a central part of Islam. Any plain reading of Koran 9:60 and Sahih Muslim 19.4294 prove it. Even "mainstream" and "moderate" Muslims will tell you that they support jizya on the FALSE grounds that jizya tax rates paid by non-Muslims are lower than zakat tax rates paid by Muslims.
