"Indeed, this Government has spent over £280 billion to support peoples jobs and incomes through this emergency." He clearly thinks that government has money of its own. Perhaps he needs to be reminded that much of the 280 billion will need to be repaid by the taxpayers he forgets to thank.

Amazing how quickly the 20 year old tax payer has forgotten the education he has so recently left could be described as a hand out, one which was was paid for by taxation. There really is no such thing as free money, it is more a case of a small return from the many thousands of pounds tax that we all pay during the course of our working lives.

Yes I recall the very same advertisement, and I have made what provisions that I could. Finally it seems that the Government has put in place "workplace" pensions. In my personal case I have been unable to work full time for 25 years due to having little choice but to care for my severely disabled wife. I must admit that when this situation first arose I imagined that it would only be a year or so, but it has not worked out that way.

You really have not understood the problem here. Regardless of the rights and wrongs of free school meals, they have been part of the system for a long time. However the real outrage this time around was the very poor value for money that these boxes of food represented. At £15.00 per child we should have seen a decent hamper for each child, but it was clear that the Spivs had made off with the lions share of the cash and thought they would get away with it because Conservatives don't give a dam.

It would be but the amount was £15.00, talk of £30.00 boxes refer to two children. The real scandal was that the food provided wasn't worth £7.00 (in the case of a single child) whilst the other 50% had been pocketed by the Spiv who got hold of taxpayers money to provide good meals for the Children.

For good reason. Trump's supporters inside the GOP would never forgive him, plus it just isn't the way to deal with Trump. The fact is that he is not going to be President for very many days, the American democratic system, although creaking somewhat has done what it was designed to do, The people have decided and Trump should have accepted that like a man.

If that proves to be the case, we might even be looking at corruption. All the more reason to get on top of this as quickly as possible and not pretend these are a few rouge cases. I know several mothers who sent me pictures of the parcels they had received they were worth no more than £7.00 in my opinion.

Well said. A good example of a subject we need to debate is how to deal with the spivs who have robbed the public purse by issuing "free" school meals that are nowhere near worth the £15.00 per child that we the tax payer will be expected to repay at some point.

I don't feel it is wise to ignore the outrage generated by the free school meals hampers being sent out that are a waste of tax payers monies, Of course ministers may argue that those pictures online are a small rouge example, but I have received numerous photographs from all over the country that suggest that spivs have been allowed to profit by ripping off the Nation. The whole point of asking private companies to supply food is that they aught to be able to get a large discount by buying in bulk and that should then be reflected in the amount of food that is supplied per child. Questions must be asked and an investigation started, those individual who have clearly stolen from the state in this manner must be brought to account. Frankly i am disgusted and dismayed by this story, we all should be.

I thought Clinton was awful and amazingly Bush was worse and then Obama was dreadful, but Trump! he managed to trump them all. Beyond awful the man was an utter disaster for the world.
I believe it is very important that we get these elections done. Democracy is far from perfect but it is way better than having the rule of the strongest bully. We have seen democracy come under attack in the US we must not allow our system to stall even if it is creaking under the strain of current circumstance.
