We have that attitude here (UK) too, especially when it comes to things like positive discrimination/quotas when taking on employees.

The power+prejudice equation is a very useful one. It's the power part that people forget, I think, and that leads to white, cis, male, straight, middle class journalists writing newspaper columns about how they are now the most discriminated group in society EVAR. (I also think they misunderstand totally what "prejudice" actually means.)
