I haven't had a smear done in 5-6 years but I thought there was some new test now that isn't as ummm.... invasive?!

My best Christmas present was probably the very low key Christmas I had with my mum! Stress free and relaxed.

Ha yes, I can certainly relate. I have those real life friends... you can share the worst stuff and they laugh, or have something even worse to share.

Mind you, the blogging community can be a bit like that!

I adore children. Mostly. I've always been sad I wasn't able to have any, but there's nothing like hanging out with a bunch (which I guess you do each day!) to put you off them enmasse!

My friend hired a jumping castle for her son's birthday and it meant she could skip the usual games and stuff cos 6yr old boys were more than happy to jump about mindlessly for 2hrs while eating junk food. I'm hoping one cancelled out the other in terms of energy to burn.

I'm a bit disappointed they couldn't find anything better to rhyme with doodle though.... Yoodle yoodle eat my doodle, for eg?!

If I didn't know you were 57 I'd say you definitely didn't look it! As for 67, well.... Benjamin Button eat your heart out.

I hope your birthday surprises are good!

Oh god, Jane Austen-speak I could cope with.... You've reminded me of that time (a dozen of so hours of my life I won't get back) I listened to Wuthering Heights and found phrases popping into my mind at the most inopportune moments!

Happy holidays!

It's probably one of those rolled processed chicken things you buy in a cardboard box at the supermarket? (A friend and I had one for Christmas many years ago!) It doesn't look very appetising for a nice pub lunch.

Though of course I would have gone the steak like Scotto as I am a meat-eater from way back. (No tawdry innuendos implied!)

You need a hip flask!!!

Also... you should be used to snake-infestations!

I've actually not read it but remember the mini series.

Interestingly I'm listening to an audiobook (The Inaugural Fairvale Ladies Book Club) and their first 'book' was The Thornbirds!

It was my niece's 21st a week or two ago and we're going down in early Sept for the family celebration. I struggled to think of something to write in her card cos on one hand I wanted it to be inspirational, but on the other I wanted it to be real. In the end it was some blithery thing about life having ups and downs and making the best of it / them we could. *sigh*

A special needs rooster? Oh I love it. And inbreeding? I can imagine it'd be a problem cos those hens and roosters don't get out much do they?!

Maybe you need to institute some sort of wife (ummm.... ) hen swapping party with neighbours. Or like the key parties of the 1970s where you all throw your hens and roosters into a pile and pair them off for a good time. Before reclaiming them and taking them back to their long term partner. Or you know, cousin..
