With Areal I've wanted to think the best about them, not so much because I liked Stalker (I never played it) but because that they said they were excited to make a Wii U port along with the other platforms. Unfortunately there were a lot of red flags raised concerning their KS and it was ultimately suspended as of today.

There are numerous articles on the internet detailing the concerns but I've also followed the game daily on KS mainly hoping to see something that would convince me it was worth backing.

One thing that seemed odd was that the funding was going to one guy (Leonid Kovtun). Why is this odd? Well another game - the above mentioned Space Pioneer - listed a Maximillian Kovtun as one of their team. They live in the same city (Vegas) and both were involved in a lawsuit against someone (suggesting they are connected besides their name and city). Space Pioneer showed a lot of generic art and public domain photos but nothing remotely resembling a video game in progress.

Now supposedly they're back a few months after their KS failure making a game and a movie. Look at the movie site I linked above - does it sound like the guy is making a game..... at all? Also when you look at the game site I don't see the mention of a movie being made. When I googled the main guy Igor Kamborov I found his youtube page and there it mentions both but there is no link to that on the game site. Also, where does it say anywhere on either site (TOOL's or Space Pioneer's) that the games are connected in any way? Will Space Pioneer transfer donations over? Offer a refund to those that aren't interested in the new game? It looks like they're still collecting money on Space Pioneers site. For what? Those sketches they have under "Updates"? Maybe they've contacted their backers already. Maybe it's all legit. I don't know.

All I'm saying is be carful and check for yourself and if you're comfortable with everything then go for it =]

I'm a capitalist so I'm totally fine with people spending their money as they see fit.

The leader of both projects is a guy going by the same name - Igor Kamborov yet in on the game site he's listed as a "visionary leader in the video game industry", and on the movie site Igor says "The movie is what I live for. A hobby and profession. I want to make a movie, to bring the ideas that can make the world better..."

I wouldn't give these guys a dime myself but check it out for yourselves.

Space Pioneer seemed pretty fishy as well and there are (allegedly) connections between them and another KS project under suspicion right now. Namely Areal.

Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our dislike for people like Pachter's opinions that I think we fool ourselves into thinking "Man, if I ever saw this guy in person I'd give him a piece of my mind"

But when you're FTF with someone it's just different than railing on a forum. Especially when its someone who has a bit of celebrity status.

That was nice to see.

SC Blacklist runs great on Wii U, just ask Doctre81. No screen tearing like on the PS360.

AC4? No idea. Haven't played the game. Recently I've been playing FE Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn. Like I said above, I'm more of a Nintendo 1st party guy really.

Still sales always matter. Why do you think we got Mario games (which I love - I have NSMBU on disc and digital now thanks to the MK8 promo) and DKCR TF instead of Metroid Prime 4? Because those games don't sell nearly as well. Like I said, you vote with your dollars in this industry.

Not interested in Ubisoft's games? Then what's the problem? There will probably not be many more. Honestly I'm not sweating it that much. Just giving my take on the situation.

What point exactly? You didn't really say for sure I'll take a guess.

Are you saying that 3rd parties supported Sega's machines because they loved Sega? Or Because they disliked Nintendo? And that business reasons didn't play as much of a part in their choices as their preferences? Are you further saying that because it was true 13-15 years years ago that that's still the case today?

Anyway what I stated in my two prior posts were just my beliefs based on what I see. Just my opinions. Not trying to ruffle any feathers. Like I said I'm a Nintendo fan and going Wii U exclusively for the foreseeable future.

How was AC a worse version? Because AC4 wasn't going to get DLC? AC3 got the DLC and still had poor sales of the game. Do you really think the DLC sold well if the game didn't?

Video games business is the opposite of politics. In politics the politician tries to get you to vote for him/her by promising stuff. In business your dollar is your vote. You want AC4? You want it with all the DLC? You "vote" for that by buying the previous game AC3 and the DLC.

Splinter Cell Wii U was the best version, not being plagued with all the screen tearing of PS360. I love that game and it's beautiful. The only thing it lacked was local MP which is not a popular feature and wasn't well advertised that it wasn't included. Sales for SCB on Wii U stunk.

Again, Wii U owners did't "vote" for full featured versions in future by buying the ones they actually got and voted for zero versions in the future by not buying the ones missing a few features. So here we are.

It's okay if we don't want these games. I prefer 1st party games almost always. But if you want to know why they aren't coming, that's why. Ubisoft isn't a Not For Profit company.

True and the total numbers are pretty bad for all three platforms really. That game was great and should have sold better.

I'm a loyal Wii U owner. No plans on buying a PS4 or XBO but I'll say it like it is: The problem is not just the number of consoles. Wii U owners just don't buy enough of Ubisoft's games. At least their M rated ones which are Ubisoft's biggest sellers. Use some kind of graphing software and create a pie chart for AC3 and Splinter Cell Blacklist for Wii U vs PS360 with available sales figures. Then make one for AC4 with Wii U vs PS4, PS3, XBO, and 360. The tiny sliver of pie in that chart for Wii U looks amazingly similar for all three games.

If you were a business owner who would you focus on?

Unfortunately if Nintendo wants the Wii U to get a good amount of quality games they will have to make it happen themselves. That's why a merger or acquisition of another software company with well known and well liked IP's makes sense for Nintendo right now and going forward. They have the money.
