Broken Plot Device : American Dining

I work in a hotel, so I get asked this same question a lot. Plenty of choices, depending on what they're in the mood for. Being in California, we also get folks asking for REAL Mexican food. There's a few good places, and a couple to avoid - the most authentic place, even the 'gringo' sauce will strip enamel off your teeth. Now, 'Californian' cuisine, that's a whole different bucket of fish... with avacado, pine nuts, feta cheese and sun-dried tomatoes... Thankfully, there's a few places as do that justice.

Broken Plot Device : The Usual

Ah yes... I have this distinction at the local Del Taco, owing to my grabbing dinner there every sunday night before work. I would also know regulars when I worked other places. I had folks who would come in for my milkshakes (which apparently brings 50-year old women to my yard), and the owner of the fencing academy was regular enough I could get his Cappachino Blast ready before he came in.

Ah, but you see, the Know-It-All isn't about imparting useful information. It's about deriding someone else for their LACK of such information. They may actually drop a few pearls of wisdom, but mostly it's in order to show off how stupid the other person is.

Broken Plot Device : Zombie Maker

This is one thing I make sure people know about my Artificer in our D&D game - if you don't like your equipment, Alkerzotz the Magnificent can change it! Resize? New color? More pointy bits? Elven runes? No problem! Changing a star-tipped wand into a gnarled ebony finger of death takes very little effort.

You want absurd - folks actually used to have armor like that! Mostly for parades and jousting tourneys, but... yeah. Of course, this is Liz' character, so yes, it's got a pony on the helmet. Also, looking at it, it may be a decoy situation, wherein attacking beasties aim for the 'head' rather than the 'neck'.
