I suppose one could interpret my comment as indicating literally every second of TF was action (and I guess "back-to-back" wasn't the best choice of phrases), but I'm sure you know very well that isn't what I meant. Transformers had lots of relatively small, fast-moving robots fighting people/each other and moving around a lot. Pacific Rim had a few gigantic, slower robots fighting giant monsters, in more sparse action sequences. These are both enjoyable premises, and I was not attempting to establish any sort of superiority of one over the other.
In another regard, I have to question your reference to "humans who didn't belong in the movie". There have been human characters in most TF incarnations to date, so why shouldn't there be in that particular one?

Anyhoo, that's my rant. I guess I'll probably get insulted now, but eh.
What's important now is for you, the reader, to go see Pacific Rim!

P.S. Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull and the Star Wars prequels are other films that are not nearly as bad as many people are desperately trying to remember them being.

Saw it a few hours ago!
It was pretty damn good, especially the score, but don't go into it expecting back-to-back action like in Transformers.
