Single Dad Laughing : The lost archives: The three-day conversation

Hahaha! Totally relate - age makes no difference, I've sadly discovered, my 15-yr-old is just as bad combined with her 9-yr-old brother, I NEVER have phone conversations at a normal hour.

Enjoyed this piece for the simple reason that I relate to all you've expressed. Looking forward to learning about your powerful writing process and hopefully apply the same application to my own process.

Single Dad Laughing : Old people say the wisest things #2

I love all of these, they too left me in smiles and giggles. I think one of the one's that should be added to the list, "Live in the moment!" The lady that shared this with me is a great mentor to me and we can all learn from those older and wiser than us. So often we forget to embrace our experiences, they are the very tools in life that teach us, grow us - in joy and in pain.

Single Dad Laughing : Happy Halfie

"I'm here to show the world what an imperfect person is. I'm also here to show the world that being "imperfect" is okay." I'm new to your blog but I think what I most appreciate and look forward to is your realness. You, as stated above, brought the funny to my day and the provoking thoughts that lied dormant. I would encourage you to continue keeping it real. In addition, I would like to thank you for being real, taking your time to invest into others, and sharing of yourself. Hugs back at ya!

Yes, you're walking through the desert without a camel. :) Actually, I agree. It applies to both parties and both parties are guilty. No debate... you said it all and the "P.S." was a good touch. Praying you find yourself loved as you desire.

Michael Hyatt Blog : In Defense of Self-Help Books

First, thank you Michael for allowing Alicia to post this blog. Alicia, I love that you wrote about this topic. Two sentences caught my attention: 1) "I have an amazing group of mentors, and I get excited whenever I bring a new one home." and 2) "Leaders don’t write books for fame, money or fun; they write books because they have a passion to influence lives." I could not have said it better! You have encouraged me to respond, not timidly but confidently, the next time I'm asked, "What type of book are you writing?" Thank you! I'm looking forward to reading more of your post at Faith Imagined.

Michael Hyatt Blog : Managing Email with an Assistant

I giggled when I saw the title of this blog come through in my email, primarily because I just received an email from you (of which I was very surprised to receive, I was expecting marketing to respond). I also giggled due to the fact that I have so many inboxes (linkedin, twitter, facebook, myspace, blog, college, personal) and would love an assistant. Granted, I have no where near the volume you do but when my own mother says "you never responded to the email I sent you", it leaves me longing for an assistant, a clone, calgon, or an easy button - anything other than time management skills. (wink)

Michael Hyatt Blog : Book Giveaway: Everyone Communicates, Few Connect by John C. Maxwell

As a single mom, full-time college student, writer, and speaker, it is important for me to communicate effectively however, I "feel" it is something I rarely do. I love to listen to others but fear that I love to talk moreso. I am always searching for new techniques on how to improve myself, especially in areas of communication (i.e. convincing my 14-year-old that she doesn't need to wear dark, black eyeliner around her eyes, or explaining to my professor that I feel Kant is really trying to one-up Aristotle by talking in a larger circle, or explaining to my small group at church how we are limited in understanding all that our infinite God has to offer because we are finite creatures - just to name a few). All that to say, I would love to learn how to communicate more effectively, in simple fashion, in order to inspire others. Of course I also have 3 more weeks of classes so I wouldn't be able to read (yet), give me a few more weeks.
