As a child, I would fantasize about my original families, much like you have described. Now that I am in reunion, it actually seems worse for me, because I KNOW what they are doing and only because I cannot afford the 850 mile journey for me and my family, I am missing out on all of it. I reunited with them for the first time at Thanksgiving 2011 (and there is no way to ever top that holiday as the best EVER), so this is my second year of gut-wrenching grief of being alone....and getting to see all of their fun on Facebook (that I am always included in when I am able to be with them). I really have some prayerful decisions to make for change.

Adoptive parents are paying big bucks to make the child "their own", not do what is best for the CHILD. It's what's best for them. Period. (Most of us adult adoptees have experienced this.) Does anyone really think that these folks will pay that kind of money for a child that is "not their own" as far as the adoptive parent's needs not being met (no falsified documents, no lies to birth families, no erasing the child's identity, etc) AND to have to share the child in open adoption?

Julie J's words come out of my mouth more times than I care to remember. Barbara Monckton Thavis' comment really gave me something to think about "...adoption is the abortion of the mother".

You are a strong woman, Deanna. At "that" moment I am sure that if it were me, I would have swiftly stuffed down the Godly Ree and been my take-off-my-high-heels-and-earrings-and-throw-down-Ree, enough to scare her completely to death.

I am so sorry that you and your family are going through all of this. I am, however, thankful that it looks like you might have one more shot to visit with her in person before she goes Home; a gift that many don't get. I pray that she gives you the information you seek and deserve. Praying for God's will and peace <3 Much love my dear sister <3
