Lists that exist primarily for Annihilation missions are pretty lame. Just about any Codex can do a good old-fashioned beardy build with min troops and work similarly. Kill your enemies before they can hurt your troops.

So I share the OP's lack of enthusiasm for the topic. Time to move on.

I'm not sure what the win by 3+ system means. Say I have 9 KP to give and my opponent has 20. If I kill 11 of his units and hide my last unit, I win? But if I kill 10, it is a tie? The 20 KP player would have to lose 5 units or less then to win (otherwise would have to go for the table)

I can't believe there are folks in this HOBBY who who have issues with counts-as. As long as something is done well and is easy to translate, then why not? I saw a pretty cool Genestealer Cult army that used the Ork's Codex. Part of my flinched as seeing Genestealer Nobs, but the army worked well enough.

If it all becomes overwhelming, then take notes or ask for a copy of the list.

Regarding the term WAAC. Folks, especially BoLs, have redefined that term to mean CHEATING. Many also have been assigning the same implication to the term Powergaming.

I often question the motives of people who vilify folks who Play to Win... oh yeah, that is their code for cheaters as well. What can we call competitive gamers? Those Who Refuse to Yield to Peer Pressure to Suck? TWRtYtPPtS?

This article needs a Part II. I'm experimenting with a 42 man IG Infantry Blob (With a Priest IC) and got assaulted from opposite ends. Dealing with pile-ins and model removal got complicated since the enemy units were something like 18 inches apart from each other.

I glanced at the IG list of restrictions and I don't know how I'd be able to even build a list that limits all the things they say and still stay under the model count cap.

Whoever wrote this list has some sort of inbred gaming group (and by that a group of like-minded folks) who refuse to rework their 3rd edition armies and think new stuff is too powerful. So in an effort to stay "fluffy" they built that crap.

That being said, I almost wish you hadn't linked this as bad ideas like this might find fertile group at places like Warseer or BoLs.

Thanks for the feedback! Maybe I can get our group to move up to 1500 points later, but the thinking about 1000 was we could finish in a couple of hours even with crying babies and such demanding attention.

I was afraid you'd say the platoon was suboptimal. I'm really proud of the way they are painted :p
