http://ourmothersdaughters.blogspot.com/ : Little boy blue, I knit you a sweater!

Re: Norwegian purling - I think part of my brain just exploded. I've suddenly found myself knitting an entire scarf for my husband in seed stitch (do I regret this decision now? Yes.), so I tried it - there's no way I will ever be able to get the tension right with all that twirling around. Anyway, I knit continental and don't do a Norwegian purl, and I get those lines, too. I just made a pair of wool soakers and they're knit partially back and forth and partially in the round and you can see where I switch over to circulars. But I haven't blocked them yet so I can't tell you if it helps. (I think that type of increase is called make 1 left/right depending on whether you do it from the front or the back.)

Oh, no, oh, no. That poor baby. Praying for his recovery and for his and his mother's physical safety and peace of mind. And for St. Joseph to pray for that father to have a total conversion.

Home Ec 101 : Menu Monday 3/8/2009

In my experience, I get that "meh" feeling because of two extremes: 1. I'm just tired out and really need a rest/break/dinner out or 2. have gotten out of the habit of things and need to pull myself together and look at some cookbooks/home organisation blogs/backsides of cleaning products for inspiration. But first I have to figure out which one it is, because the cure for being frazzled is not the same cure as for laziness!
