I don't see any evidence the Cruz campaign sought them sought them out for an opinion. Katyal is a Democrat who worked for President Obama. He would certainly have no political incentive to help Ted Cruz. The Cruz campaign naturally latched on to the article once it was published since it was favorable to Cruz's case for eligibility.

You are quoting David Farrar as a credible source? Really? Quid pro quo roughly translates as \"this for that\". So what money was paid to Clements and Katyal to write the legal editorial? What benefit did they derive?

The question of whether a person in Cruz situation is a natural born citizen is worthy of scholarly discussion. I have seen valid points made on both sides. It isn't a clear cut situation like that of Barack Obama where more than 99% of the legal community and every court decision comes down on one side. We have had good discussions on it at forums like the Fogbow and in comment streams on articles. WE do it without impugning evil motives like you have.

It is unfortunate that Trump or another legit candidate didn't take up a challenge and hire a good attorney. However, as it turned out Trump was lying when he said he would challenge Cruz. Trump lies a lot.
