Here's the thing, regarding DT's redemption:
She made her turn because:
a, She lost her only friend after losing the vote.
b. This was the first time in series history that the Crusaders offered her genuine kindness.
As for everyone accepting it, I think it's more that they like the fact that she helped them gain a new and better playground. There are probably going to be some episodes expanding on that.
And, part of the reason I felt more for DT's redemption than for Zuko's is because DT was a child character that I hated up until CotLM, but I didn't like that I hated her, whereas I never felt strongly about Zuko either way.
And all right. It didn't feel like we were arguing, but whatever.

For the story arcs, I don't mind that because, at the end of the day, we're comparing a show that's 90% slice of life to a show that's more action oriented.
Overall consistency, I actually think MLP has been pretty consistent throughout its 5 years so far.
Pacing: What do you mean by that? Are you talking about individual episode pacing, or about the pacing of the whole show?
Character development, I think is MLP's strongest point, and I think it's done better there.
Villain redemptions: As far as I remember, there was only 1 throughout all of AtLA and only 2 throughout all of Korra. And while they are good, I never really felt anything during their redemptions. MLP's villains on the other hand, their redemptions almost always make me feel something.
For context in that last point, DT's redemption in Crusaders of the Lost Mark had a bigger effect on me than anything throughout Avatar or Korra.

I don't think so.
As Vicodin said, it only appears that Unicorns are overpowered because we only focus on a limited group.
Most unicorns, as we've seen, don't do much more than just levitate stuff.

Honestly, I like that Starlight was able to train herself up to the level of magic she was at.
For the exact reason you said: You don't expect it to happen.

None.

Here's the thing:
I won't deny that Avatar the Last Airbender is a good show, but for some reason I just never connected with it as much as I do to MLP FiM..

In terms of songs for Pinkie Pie, unfortunately :The Smile Song gets beat out by several others, most of which being from Pinkie Pride.

While it IS true that the generation will one day end, I don't think that'll be happening for a while.
Let's just hope that when that day DOES come, the show gets a worthy sendoff.

For a while (meaning, between becoming a fan of the show and Pinkie Pride happening), Lesson Zero was my favorite episode, and I'd pick THAT to be the first episode I'd show someone who hasn't seen the show before over A Friend in Deed, which I honestly consider to be one of the weakest episodes of season 2.
