I think non-US entreprenuers have a little chance of covered in main stream tech media.. Created a site http://chirpsearch.com which allows some one to a Geo search for Tweets (First of it's kind) Sent a mail to tips@techcrunch.com and still no replies about getting reviewed here..(except a mail from your co-editor, with some queries for which I replied) This is why I would say Indians from India have a less chance of being covered in techblogs here whereas people from othercountries have a greater chance of making it :( :(

Here you go about union carbide..One of the world's worst disaster due to cost cutting (Nearly 15000 people lost their life and may are still dying due to the after effects) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhopal_disaster And $37 dollars a day would have saved nearly 15000 life and would have prevented this disaster http://news.rediff.com/special/2010/jun/25/how-37... And the company in focus is Union Carbide (UCI) which has been acquired by Dow chemicals (A American concern) which has washed it hands of the disaster.. In the above two incidents one is common ,cost cutting and these two happened only due to cost cutting...and nothing else And above all these MNC's still refuse to learn from the past history and still go on cutting costs for revenue.. I work in Fortune 600 MNC and here also they cut costs like anything right from the server space for storing important information But they don't cut the salaries of dumb CEO's ,VP's and directors instead they do petty things like this..:(

The main focus of these MNC's is to earn more revenues by flouting every norm on the book..(Cost cutting) BP to save $1 million per day (cost of drilling at the rig which exploded) did some foolish cost cutting measures and that has resulted in this big oil spill which cost them more than $20 billion..and counting And the saved dollars(cost cutting) are used to pay big flat bonuses to Directors,VP's and CEO's.. BP should be banned from doing business in US for this spill.. it would teach a good lesson to others who flout norms or standard procedures in the name of cost cutting..
