It only becomes a problem if he says other should bent to his rules! Aslong he is fine with his own rules and don't try to impose these rules on others it's fine;)

yeah, but a hive tyrant with T6 and 3+ is far heavyer to kill than a 5man group of T3 5+ guys!

The mission you invented was often used in 5th ED, in the german tournament scene and it's one of my favorits! Balanced and fair for every Army!
Your version looks like a very good addabtion to 6th!

Even if your analysis is pretty solid i think TO can use all this to create new and good missions.

Let's take Hammer and Anvil, Outflanking became KING ;) And if you start Turn 1 with night fight (maybe even add Turn 2). Either shooty armys get nerfed, or they have to split forces (bad thing)

I would develope something like that:

THE SHRINE;
Deployment:
Hammer and Anvil

The Battlefield:
Place an objective at the center of the table (as the relict)
Victory Conditions:
The objectiv is worth 3VP (Place an objective at the center of the table, it can be moved like the relict, but only 6"per Turn) The unit carrying the relic can only snapfire and can't charge into CC (FA and Standard units are scoring)

Secondary Objectives:
Holding the center of the Table is worth 2VP (despite the relict)
Linebreaker, Slay the warlord

Mission Special Rules:
Night Fight (Turn 1 and 2), Reserves.

Night fight Turn 1and2 should limit heavy gunfire a bit and hinders shooty armys standing back
the primary even punishes holding back and not trying to come into mid (after you reduced the movement, and force the enemy to nearly loose one unit to defend it, this mission is not terrible anymore). The secondary objectives encourage attacking, instead of defending, if the enemy hold back, you still can draw. If he runs one unit back and rush the rest of your forces, flyers, flankers and shocktroops can claim the prize and force a detour.

Is it perfect, maybe not, but just saying these mission are terrible is to easy, i think theire inspirational value is big! just leave the random stuff at home!

Total: 120.000.240

Ok this is not fair: but if you want you can place as many Chaosbeasts and lesser Deamonsquads as you want (they don't take up FOC places)

In regards of Tau i can settle you thoughts, in the tank tray you can fit up to 4 of your Tanks and all drones you may ever need... The only Problem i sometimes have is the same as with GK and their Infanterie; Kroot don't like small compartments:D

Never thought the System is perfect and it would need tweaking, as i said, its only a small and not thought through idea!
