Actually, I don't agree or disagree. Just saying you can't tell from a picture if one is doing yoga or not. Otherwise, acrobats of any kind would be doing yoga, something I'm sure they would deny. Certainly he's performing asana at a high skill level, but that is all that is displayed here. Everything else is projection.

So I'm wondering, how can you tell that there is anything spiritual about this? As for it being yoga, there is also no way to tell that either from a video of a physical performance.

There is no need to do what any yoga instructor in a studio class says to the letter. They want you to move out of of pose too soon? Ignore them and hold it as long as you need, then rejoin the flow later. Also, if you have a "parayoga" teacher in your area, they are likely to hold the poses longer.
