Weeks after The Toast opened I started college. Then I dropped out, started again, dropped out, transferred, hospitalized myself and dropped out. I was sexually assaulted. I came out to both of my parents. I was the happiest I've ever been, and the most depressed. I lived a half hour commute from my favorite city in the world for a summer. I moved out on my own to my favorite city in my state. I started writing, for real. I've spent a lot of time feeling like a failure or a fool but never here.

My ADHD brain means I can't usually read something this long in one sitting but I blew through it and was astonished when I looked at the time when I finished.

I first heard about the Green Book on an episode of the podcast the memory palace a few weeks ago, which I would highly, highly recommend to Toasties.

Thank you, The Toast, and all the toastie staff/editors/writers/comment moderators (will The Bartender's identity ever be revealed???). Tomorrow, other than reading the site and the Slack and Toastie Twitter and crying, I will be going to an appointment at Planned Parenthood and seeing a screening of Lemonade, neither of which I chose because of the end of The Toast but they do feel like the best way to honor it.

I've seen it. It's very good. I really like it. I'm fucking tired of hearing about it constantly. In places where I used to like to talk about theater on the internet it is 100% all Hamilton, all the time.
