This is pretty much to a tee exactly how I reacted to this short upon first reading it. I'm still not entirely sure that we have the entire story.

22-year-old, non-parent here. In my history this issue has directly coincided with some online privacy. When I first got an email address I found out that my mom would read my emails and I was horribly upset. She and my dad told me that I had a whole journal to myself, but my email was fair game for them. Looking back I think they could have handled that better (by telling me from the start that they may read my email), but I am so grateful they never read my journals. Not because I was doing anything wrong, just because my journals were filled with such silly worries and I would have been so embarrassed.

Since I moved out I know my mom has come across a few of my old journals. I don't know if she's read them, but with the passage of time she is welcome to. Now I can look back on those things and laugh.

Knowing that this exists makes me want to go to the post office and buy all the Harvey Milk stamps.

I love this! I'm from San Francisco, and I love seeing my favorite place through different eyes.
Two of my favorite not-as-touristy spots for next time: Bi-Rite Creamery for local ice cream and Tcho a chocolate factory along the water just up the street from the Ferry Building (they have tours!).

Whenever I see people cosplaying I think they're the coolest people. I'm curious about it, but I wouldn't know how or where to begin.

"No matter how silly, how embarrassing, how scary, how mundane, how boring you think your experience is, there is someone out there who needs to hear it." <<-- That is such a sweet sentiment, and so very true. I am always amazed by the connections that I've made with other people's stories and the mirroring that they've seen in my own stories.

Congratulations on NaNo!!! It's such an exciting month to see everyone working so hard on writing.

Just one thing though, "if you'll excuse the pun". Puns are the best thing ever. Pun always intended in my life. Don't apologize for being awesome! :)
