I'm a freelance writer and I have a almost full time job in the food industry. My girlfriend is an artist and is about to enter into beauty school so she can be a hair stylist to start being self sufficient.
We would both love to be creative full time creative but that is simple not possible and we dont even have a kid to worry about. Your husband has no excuse.

I read this in Sarah Vowell's nasally voice, because she wrote Assassination Vacation and I love that book and I love her nasally voice. The America, man. it bleeds from these words. It pulls a tear birthed of pure patriotic amniotic fluid from my ex-pat, States hating soul.

One of the hardest things for me to get over when I was questioning my gender was the fact that I didn't have that feeling of dysphoria for the first 17.5 years of my life. The Standard Trans Story (tm) always starts with, "I knew when I was 5 years old". It's nice seeing another story that reflects my own in that regard.

It took me until I was nearly 19 when I realized I couldn't take the dysphoria anymore and began coming out to people, and that year of repression and running was primarily fueled with feelings of being not trans-sexual enough to transition. Trans people online literally told me that if I didn't know by 5 years old then I was a fake who wanted to sound more interesting than I actually was. I didn't learn later that this lie was born of the Harry Benjamin standards of care. :I

I made a comic. It's about the weird questions me and my girlfriend get since we are both women (gasp!) Even though we live in Canada it is still confusing for some people (mostly men) It is NSFW so I will just post a link. http://quinn-o-matic.tumblr.com/post/78892707736/...

Saint's Row 2 and 4 are actually quite feminist, and 4 in particular is really intelligent.

Like... do you think that feminists are saying that video games specifically influence sexist attitudes, or do you recognize that feminists are talking about all media, not video games specifically?

You and the rest of the anti-feminists on this blog are the dumbest people on the internet. Nowhere else have I seen a higher concentration of reactionary, oversensitive bullshit when it comes to feminist theory. For the love of god, calm the fuck down about your hate boner over these issues.

Also, I KNEW he was a metalhead! He has that look. I can't explain it. Maybe it's the trenchcoat and the goatee?
