writing stuff here took me from having a lot of neurotic secret hubristic anxious confidence in my own words that no one must suspect all the way to being a golden god who apologizes to no one. and that's just how I feel about my comments. The toast made me feel heard and understood when I posted my little clouds of nonsense and it wasn't just a feeling, it was the truth. If I ever murder a man they will have to go to the toast logbook to collect a list of names cause there is no other community I know about where they could collect a jury of my peers. farewell

I keep being flummoxed by kids in the program I just completed who are surprised and impressed but a little concerned when I speak of my "hotel" and not "hostel," they want me to know that plenty of European hostels don't have age restrictions. that is really terrific to know but OLD PEOPLE LIKE LUXURIES. I wouldn't even have shared the city of Rome with all the Romans if I had the option of paying a little extra to have it all to myself,never mind a bedroom

Because of the Toast I tried to publish (and did publish) the first thing I'd published in ten years, just because Mallory was nice to me in the comments section and I couldn't be 100 percent certain she was kidding. I am in Rome at the moment, so greetings from one great lost empire to another. though unlike Rome, the Toast will fall but never decline. (today I took a giant Roman pinecone from under a giant Roman pine nearby Keats' grave, so that Keats will haunt me. it's not robbery if you're only doing it for the haunts.)
