I agree with you. The sad thing is that while they played a large role in the Holocaust (because 40% of Nazi Germany was Catholic), Protestants played an even larger role, with 54% of German citizens self-identifying that way- according to the official German census in 1939. (And 3.5% were "Beleivers in God", leaving only 1.5% atheist/agnostic/Free-Thinker, and 1% "other".) Both Catholic and Protestant churches nowadays like to claim that Hitler was a pagan or animist, Deist, or occultist. He was Catholic, and said in 1941 "I am now as before a Catholic and will always remain so." His religion isn't as important as those who lived in Germany and populated the SS, though. Without their complicity, he would have been just another homeless guy wandering the streets. (That was what he was doing when Einstein wrote Special Relativity. Alan Turing invented computer science as we know it. The contributions of von Neumann and Alonzo Church were also exceptional- but Alan is the real father of computer science. WWII had no greater hero, and the UK shat on his grave after putting him in it. This so soon after the Nazis exterminated all the gay people it could find. Its a common theme- the USA had a Lavender Scare that was similar. And in Europe- only a 11 years after the Nazis were defeated (well, absorbed into the USA's intelligence and research community at least), this happened:

In 1956, a minor named Henk reported the clerical sexual abuse (rape, sodomy) to the police. Hearing about the abuse, the police treated him as if he were insane, bringing him to a Roman Catholic psychiatric hospital where he was involuntarily committed. People there told detectives Henk was “a homosexual, untrustworthy, a liar and mentally disturbed.”

One month later, at St. Josephs hospital in the southern Dutch town of Veghel, Henk was surgically castrated or “eugenized,” as the hospital records put it, using a term previously attributed to the Nazi program of systematically sterilizing the mentally and physically handicapped.

This happened to at least 9 other young boys, too.

This was a great idea, and the design is top notch too. I'm still testing it out. but it seems good so far. Very KISS, which is great. (Keep it simple, stupid.)
