My Physical Therapy Space : Of Brain and Brawn……..or Both?

It is our job as therapists to 1) Diagnose 2) Treat the pain and Functional limitations (which do not include golf in medicare) 3) Achieve the goals that we set (impairments related to functional limitations) 4) In addition we Promote wellness and fitness. We know that we can be the best/safest personal trainers but unfortunately it is not medically necessary 5) So, we need to hook our deconditioned patients into becoming a client in a fitness or wellness setting, safely. If they have muscle imbalances or chronic weakness, teach them to manage their limitations and let them continue with a trainer, cash program or P90X (which by the way has gotten me so much business). 6) Smart clinics are developing these programs in their clinics so that they can help the patients throughout the course of their quest for fitness.
