i LOVE the message from the article:
"Don’t get hung up on what your body looks like—focus on what your body can do!"

next step towards progress: at least include non-willowy practitioners' photos instead of only one willowy, yogi...representing at least a couple or more types of yogis...other colors, shapes, ages, etc.

Don't get me wrong...I love my body...for what it can do AND (FINALLY) what it looks like too..however, yoga helps me to accept myself on all levels, even when I am feeling "off" in some way and the inner-critic voice becomes louder...(and yes that happened to me just YESTERDAY! difference? it was fleeting and not something I dwelled upon)

I loved this article and shared it to my facebook pages.

this heartfelt essay has touched me on several levels. My son, now 23 yrs old, will see this too...he was raised surrounded by love and family.. not a biological father... While he's had abundance in his life, there's a void where his father would have been. I've sent this article to him to assist in the process of healing and growth. thank you.

as usual, anne pegs my thoughts...thanks for this anne! i remember entering the world of yoga through bikram classes and speaking horribly to myself as i was forced (yes, forced..verbally) to stare into my eyes. i hated what i saw...and each day was a challenge but eventually, what i saw changed and my broken eyes began to heal as my heart healed. it's always an inside job. and yes, i lost a few lbs and looked better on the outside..but only because i was working on the insides.

w/ all due respect to desiree, i can't help but look at that comment snippet as somewhat cryptic. i wonder what HER clear choice will be in this matter? has she announced her clear choice?

ps...it does amaze me to see the energy people spend judging this kind of stuff. i think one's reaction is more of a reflection of the viewer than the artist's work.

I find his work beautiful. art is subjective. that's my subjective opinion. so what. love it, keep looking at it. if you don't, then say what you want and/or move on.
