Is there a pattern for those dresses - I have a couple of grand daughters who would look really cute in them? As for the morning sickness - mine lasted almost all of my second pregnancy, my husband said he should have bought shares in Mylanta!
I knit a wonderful shawl in a yarn called Kauni, and comes from Denmark. It was a perfect rainbow, wish I could post a photo. I used about 140 Gm. and by the end of the shawl had only 5 Gm left over. It's posted on my face book page [Pippa Knits].
Love the doggles, and everyone who lets their dog hang his head out of the car window should be made to get them and make their dog wear them. Not to mention dogs on the back of bicycles, motor bikes, etc.
Love the colors, and it looks so soft - is it?
I'm impressed by the technological skill of your husband - can I borrow him some time?
Our ancestors coped because they had so many kids, and those kids did chores, as well as each one looked after those younger. We didn't have a washing machine when I was growing up - just a very deep sink with a "wringer" and lines in the back yard to dry everything on.
I hear what you say - my adult sons like socks, slippers, but not sweaters!! However my youngest granddaughter walks round carrying her blanket, and telling everyone who will listen "my grandma made this for me, and it's BEAUTIFUL" - she's 3 1/2, and clearly has good taste. I've just started sewing, after a long break, and am so happy I have granddaughters to sew for. There is really nothing to beat home made, and anyone who doesn't realize that is missing out on high quality, long lasting stuff - be it toys, clothes or bread.
Just a word about using Lavender essential oil [which I love] around small kids, as it has a history of having an effect on hormones. My youngest granddaughter, at the age of about 6 months, started some premature puberty changes [translated she started growing boobs] and the pediatrician suggested they stop using anything containing lavender - that worked. Once they get a little older, it's not a problem, but you might want to look into it. But I love what you are doing - didn't have the guts to do it when my boys were young, and now they are fully involved in the professional and corporate world. Me - I live with my fly-fishing husband in our small piece of heaven in Northern Michigan - plenty of apples, and a trout stream right of the front porch of our small log house.
