I do agree that it is a bit too cheesecakey in some places (Noh female characters, though then again the male ones are practically naked as well except for the Render, Cerci, Pirates, One Shot, etc) but for the most part I think its easy enough to fix. Cerci? Paint them like they have a fuller flight suit, even if it is skin-tight (which is sort of what you would want on a high speed race with nothing between you and the wind). One-Shot? Maybe increase the length of the pants. The pose does sort of make sense if you consider it as her adjusting the gun, and the model is a single piece (at least currently) so its easily removed or changed. Those are just some examples of how it can easily be dealt with.

So far I like it. I've had two games with my SoB so far and it's been great. Vehicles are still pretty useful, but just not as crazy good as before. Building are dangerous to stay in due to taking hits from every glance/pen plus more hits from the pen rolls, but are useful as they save the unit from lower strength rolls. I think that having my long fangs in a building helped save my exorcists because my opponent concentrated his firepower on the building rather than my vehicles (and then proceeded to roll a 1 to pen with every lascannon shot the entire game- literally rolled a "1", not figuratively). Even warlord traits were reasonably useful. I didn't test out fortifications or mysterious anythings though.

What I don't like is that flyers are so hard to kill. Luckily I only faced one in my second game (a storm raven) and it did pretty much nothing, but I couldn't really hurt it so I had to just try to ignore it.

I'm currently undecided in terms of challenges. I like that you can use them to save your powerful characters or have some interesting duels, but I don't like that guys like Mephiston can walk up to a unit and kill off the only guy that can hurt him without any recourse.

I would assume that it would be multiple selection.

I think playing a sister's army would quickly change your mind. Rolling low numbers for the exorcists is pretty harsh. They can work well if you roll high, but it's the fact that their number of shots is random that really hurts their reliability. I've found that adding a 5-missile unit of long fangs and a 4 HB retributor unit has helped me army a lot (the rending heavy bolters more so than the missiles, believe it or not, as my long fangs average 1 wound a round against marines before cover saves).

Pretty much every lower end army got better in 6th. Even SoB are a lot better now, especially since they can have allies to help with some of their weaknesses (lack of close combat without a confessor, no psychic defense, lack of ranged anti-tank firepower).

Good to hear. I like reading stuff on nids.

I really get the impression that nids are still one of the most popular armies in the game, even after 5th ed and the Cruddace book. It sort of makes me wonder what the current list of army popularity is. It wouldn't surprise me if nids was 3rd or 4th after marines, orks, and maybe IG.

Ragnar! I haven't used him since the new SW book came out. Maybe I should take him out for a spin at some point. He always died instantly due to PFs in the old book, but maybe he'll do better now.

For me I cannot play an army that I have no interest in and I cannot play an army that I don't enjoy. I've tried running armies that I like but don't enjoy playing and it doesn't work, though I have to admit I've never tried the opposite simply because I don't get things that I don't find interesting, though I think Necrons might be this. I bought a bunch of necrons before the book came out and while they were fun, I ended up with a lot of stuff that I'm not really interested in which makes me wonder if I should sell the army or keep it, or perhaps sell what I have and restart it from scratch, only getting the stuff that really interests me (Canoptek anything, barges, scythes).

Of course my primary armies are nids and SoB (with my SW being relegated to allies now after over a year of disuse) I'm sure you can guess how well this policy has been serving me.

Probably the fact that they can no longer assault when outflanking. On the other hand, they do now have an 8/9 chance of choosing their board edge rather than a 2/3 chance, which is nice.

I think the big reason why BA Storm Ravens are mentioned is due to their blood strike missiles. Give it a CML and a lascannon and that's 5 S8+ shots against a flyer in one turn, compared to the 3 a GK SR can do.
