Sounds delicious! I, too, have a non-million-dollar blender and frequently have problems with recipes using cashews for creaminess. I wonder if you'd have better luck soaking the cashews and processing them in a food processor before adding to the rest of the soup and blending?

I'm so delighted that you got to make this recipe AND that it lived up to your memories!! The baked goat cheese salad that lives on in my memory was at a bistro on the Left Bank in Paris in 2000. It was also the first time I had a GOOD rose (Loire Valley).

Alice Waters's goat cheese salad reminds me of the best salad I ever had (in Paris, no less) over a decade ago. I may have to give that a try!
