I have always wanted a guy who makes at least as much money as I make. The My husband makes about $20k more than me each year. When we started dating, I was making more than him, but I knew that he had the potential to make much more. The reasons are mainly what your friend said. I just don't want the pressure of being the breadwinner. :)

It is gorgeous! I think you did well, considering you are being so sensible with other aspects of your wedding planning. Congratulations!

I am like you, don't really keep track of my spending. I tracked my spending for a few months and then decided on my budget. As long as I kept having money left over after each paycheck I was happy. I think I will do that for November too. It will be easy for us since we both use the same debit card for everyday purchases and the recurring bills go to a credit card that we pay off each month.

Since your rent is about the same as ours and we are DINKs too, I am going to guess you spend about the same as us - $3500 this month. I hope you don't break my heart by saying that's a ridiculously large number for 2 people :)

I think about this a lot too! I agree with you that everybody expects tips these days. I go to a hairstylist who rents a small room from this salon suite. She does not have anyone working for her, yet I need to tip her when I get my hair cut. I often wonder why they can't just increase the cost and be done. The worst part of tipping is the second guessing every time - am I tipping too much or too less? She didn't fill up my water, so can I leave her less? We ordered a bottle of wine with dinner, so do we tip 20% on that too? I used to tip 20% earlier, but now I am scaling back to 15-20% depending on service. I didn't choose to work in a line of work where I depend on my clients to make up for what my employer isn't paying me

Hmm I don't know how helpful this is, but I am going to say Yes! The reason I say this is because of family. My aunt and uncle had their wedding videos where my sister and I and other cousins are toddlers and little kids. Anytime there is a family gather we watch that video together because it is so much fun. So I say go for it.

Yikes, that's a lot of money. I need something for my teeth too and I had no idea it would cost that much. I think I might bite the bullet and get it this year too.

Wow I've always wanted to try a boot camp before, but they are sooo expensive. Also I am in a 1 year contract with my gym and so I can't just stop for sometime. Do write about how it goes once you begin.

That's too bad! But if the other guy rear ended you, shouldn't his insurance have to pay for your repairs and loaner car? I am pretty sure you are due a rental car for the time your car is in the shop!

Well I use Excel and I find it really easy since I created the worksheets for me. I have briefly used Quicken Online, but it seems to be gone now. I haven't really used Quicken before so I don't know how good it is. But if you feel it would be good, I say make the switch.
