Happy birthday.

Happy Birthday and have a wonderful vacation. My husband and I hope to spend a few days on the coast but we are mainly saving our pennies so we can visit our youngest during his year of studying in Salzberg.

As for reading - I was surprised at how much I enjoyed The Buddha in the Attic. I, for some reason, did not have high expectations but at the end I found those expectations shattered.

Love that you like A Prayer for Owen Meany (one of my favorites) and the baby shower was too cute. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and the happy baby to be.

This sounds interesting. With the author's musical background, I was wondering if the language was lyrical in anyway. I guess I am thinking of Bel Canto which has the echos of opera running through it beyond the plot.

Wonderful blog and a hard choice. I have read A Good Hard Look think it was a wonderful read. The others are on my list but I am going to go for The Beauty of Humanity Movement.

I just finished and I did not have high expectations. It took me a while but it managed to exceed those expectations. it was a book I had to just flow with and I think it would have been very hard to listen to.

I took my senior seminar on Jane Austin and MP was the Professor's favorite book and Fanny his favorite character. Needless to say, if you wanted a good grade you wrote your senior thesis on MP. I can't even remember what I wrote - a bunch of drivel on the father/daughter relationship or something like that. My least favorite of Austin's work.
