I have read at least 40 of these, some several times. I rarely keep fiction--I give it away to make room for the non-fiction books I treasure. I am an old, "white" male, although I fail to see what "whiteness" has to do with book selection--or maleness, for that matter. Will you make a list for people of different colors and for both sexes? Of course you failed to include books by other authors which commenters here have noted: Carlos Castaneda, Robert Pirsig, Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein, Colin Wilson, Nick Tosches, Trevanian, George Orwell, Joyce Carol Oates, Peter Matthiessen, David Lodge, Nikos Kazantzakis, Aldous Huxley, Khaled Hosseini, John Fowles, Ken Follett, Joseph Conrad...

You can get 48 condoms at Costco for $9.99 + tax, and generic birth control pills for $22 per month. I checked on this yesterday while shopping there. I think basic membership in Costco is $25 per year.

I am not formally religious, do not belong to any organization, and am as outraged as others here are. I see, however, that BHO has finally overreached am and glad for this. I got my BS in '63 and MPH in '65 from Berkeley. I saw the whole Free Speech Movement, with which I initially sympathized when it was peaceful. But, very quickly, it became organized by ready radicals who saw the crisis as "a terrible thing to waste." Despite receiving government payments under the G.I. Bil,. a small but useful amount, I worked at least half-time all through my undergraduate studies as a janitor, lab assistant, driver, grocery clerk, anything I could. I wonder where these useful idiots who are now protesting, think the money comes from to pay for the facilities and people who are the University. Well, they don't think, they just are the minority who are taking advantage of the situation to play out their childishness. I dare to say that no more than 10% of the protesters, then and now, are in tantrum mode. It's really very disgusting, and I blame the University for tolerating the insertion into the curriculum all manner of nonsense courses having nothing to do with rigorous study and research. These "feel good" courses attract, in large part, the kind of immature actors we are seeing in this pitiful street drama.
