In the meantime, doctors are quitting by the thousands, HMOs and other healthcare providers are cutting staff, health insurance companies are taking big losses as they lose policyholders, and so on. Why isn't the GOP exploiting this mess at a time when more and more Dems would vote for a repeal and defund? Why? Because the fix is in. The "right" people have been paid off. I expect that as things continue to worsen, the Republicans will flog the Dems during the election season with this and when the elections are behind us, there will be a half-hearted attempt to pass a massive bailout bill for the insurance companies which will finally take us to single payer by 2015. It's probably too late already. The old healthcare system is already gone. As with everything else these days of universal entitlement fever across the political spectrum, we kept delaying today's "small" pain into the future hoping to escape any pain at all. Now we have run out of time and the "big" pain is here and we can't escape. We are now going to grow up the hard way. Heckuva job!

That was the first parade I worked and I'll never get over how it feels to be in a crowd with all of the distractions and background crowd noise when suddenly a performance for the ages happens right in front of you. The audience was blown away. The Rose Parade has been one of the most patriotic events in America for a long time. Great way to start every year.

I just found out yesterday that my closest friend in my office went to grammar school with Axelrod in Brentwood. Yikes. He also knows Shulman professionally. You never know who you know and who they know. I wonder why I never met Kevin Bacon? He must be too reclusive or something for me to not have bumped into people who know people who know him. The liberal talk show media isn't competing for ratings with Rush Limbaugh but with the white noise separating the stations on the dial. When I worked for an NPR affiliate in Boston, we used that as the minimum standard for defining whether a show qualifies to be considered "communication". It was based on the theory that says that bouncing radio signals off of trees and buildings does not accomplish anything. All but three of our programs failed and two of those three registered because listeners believed they were listening to WGBH. The big news station back then was WEEI and once Morning Edition started, that audience would move down the dial to catch the show on WGBH which was further down the dial but we had the inside advantage and would intercept them before they got there. If public radio survived on advertising, that would have been game ender once advertisers learned that most of their ads were playing on the wrong station. Public broadcasting is funny that way. You ought to try it Doug. You would gather more material than you could ever use in two lifetimes. You would have to leave most of it to your children.

It says a lot about why they were telling the Marines to stand down (twice). They were already planning the apology campaign and couldn't afford to shoot and apologize at the same time. After all, no one had seen that video yet. It also tells you what the priorities were. Officially, the WH and State were "investigating" and didn't want to get in the way of people on the ground. But unofficially, they were already moving ahead imposing their political narrative onto the situation. Those Americans died because they stood in the way of Obama's re-election and Hillary's palns for 2016.

Study this timeline in the months leading up to the Benghazi attacks carefully and see if you can spot when exactly the big lie makes its first appearance. It's comes after Ayman Al-Zawari calls for retaliation to avenge the death of #2 guy Abu Yahya-al-Libi on 9/10 and before Carney announces that the attack was not pre-planned and that there was no indication that an attack was coming. Everything in that timeline makes sense and follows logically except for the painfully obvious appearance of the coverup narrative. It's like being on a guided tour of the WH with the guide carefully walking you through the various historical important events that happened there only to suddenly bump into the president sporting a huge boner. Subtle. Who needs an investigation? Hillary officially declared that it was a spontaneous protest over that video tape at 10pm on 9/11, just a half-hour after the first shots were fired. Then it took Susan Rice FIVE days to follow up with her official report which we have learned was written in the WH by the CIA.
