I'm pretty sure there's a boss with a very similar design in a previous Final Fantasy game. Either X or Crisis Core? I'm not sure but when I first saw that boss, I also had the same reaction.

I lost count of how many times I watched this ending. It's so powerful and to be quite honest my favourite. (Though FFVI ending comes quite close.) Yuna and Tidus break my heart every time. And I don't know... I am not good at putting what Final Fantasy means to me into words much. But it, especially Final Fantasy X, saved my life. I'm glad you got to experience it as well.

I avoided Dark Aeons at all costs because they were like this big impossible enemies for me and I had way too little attention span to power up my party to that point and there you are killing them all HERE'S A DARK AEON DOWN AND LOOK THERE'S ANOTHER DOWN and I'm... amazed. lol. Maybe not knowing what you're up against really is more useful.
