I was raised by an alcoholic. Feeling I had to carry others secrets and being told I was seeing black when I clearly saw white were way more destructive to me than any bender my dad ever went on.

The truth is sometimes the most powerful gift you can give someone whether they are ready to hear it or not.

Thanks for sharing this. It mirrors one of the things that the adults on the spectrum i have spoken with online all universally tell me. Social skills groups are useless but watching tv, in particular, reality tv is a great way to safely, comfortably learn how people interact with each other. I am glad to see some literature out to support this idea. We have used a few apps specifically for this and my son has responded well to them, but they are limited in that he won't keep re-watching the same scenes and so they are sort of one shot and done kind of things.

so i did a quick google search and it turns out May is zombie awareness month. I am thinking if there are zombies about and we are not aware of them, maybe we should be talking about that.
