Good for you, Sunday. You statement on behalf of kids was gripping and much needed. I'm so sick of people who think they can ignore the wellbeing of others because of "their personal relationship with Jesus." Irony, much.

Meh, I had high hopes for that piece but there was too much bashing of "secular feminism" and a conflating of dominant and submissive roles with masculine and feminine.

50 Shades is a really good example of self-publishing gone awry. There are good reasons to self-publish, depending on who you are and whom you want to reach but this is a perfect example of why "gatekeepers" are a good thing. They say NO.

"I'm not your personal assistant" is becoming one of my fave expressions! DD is doing highschool selections now too. Fun time, so exciting.

Sunday, is this the January 26th show? I'm in the middle of the echo right now--can't wait for it to end!

"Does anybody have any idea where all of my teaspoons and salad forks go?"

I have managed to lose an entire set of said items. We're talking vapourizing. If you ever find out, let me know. Perhaps they're off together someplace in the Bermuda Triangle for Cuttlery.

I'm not a lurker either, but I just want to say I so appreciate your voice, Sunday, and am glad you are blogging. I hope to do more on foster care issues this year.

I was horrified by that post and what they did to that child. There was absolutely no excuse for it. Thanks for getting the word out, Sunday.

Thank you, Sunday, for doing this shared guest post. I read your post on Sweet Butter Bliss's blog and it was horrifying. That this stuff is still going on when several fatalities have already been documented boggles the mind. I also tend to subscribe to SBB's "asshat" theory: 1. screw up a kid's life; 2. blame him or her; 3. make it somebody else's problem. That's the asshat way.
