Being a Conservator/Guardian gives you the "power" to pay (out of the "Wards" assets) for many people to "assist" in the "care" that they are alleging to providing to the "protected person". Generally, from what I have personally witnessed, the Conservator will control all aspects of the "wards" life, however, delegating "tasks" (generally to the same pool of individuals that collaborate in assisting them maintain their position) while charging to set up appointments, charging to call others to set up appointments, hiring drivers, caregivers, and maybe even showing up at an appointment once in a while (gives the illusion of concern). Additionally, they have to make sure all attorneys being paid out of the wards $$ are involved in every question, issue, decision etc. that they make regarding the ward. One thing to be aware of is that an "evaluation" of Ms. Lee will be conducted by a person the court picks. It would not be in the conservator’s best interest if the evaluation concluded that Ms. Lee was able to manage her own affairs (and then the conservator would not be needed...no $$) this would not be in all involved best interest financially). I would hazard to guess that the judge will appoint, perhaps Polly Fisher to evaluate Ms. Lee. I do not any know of any situation where Dr. Polly Fisher has recommended that one doesn’t need a conservator, so it is rather a shoe-in. A very expensive one. All the Objectors ("troublemakers" among other labels per the conservator and his/her people) will soon become "problems" to the ward. Or will be accused of causing the ward and/or caregivers agitation or getting "in the way" of the "wards" care.. Often Restraining Orders will be filed to keep those "trouble makers” away. Isolation is one way to break the spirit of the "wards" and apparently there is no law against depriving "wards" from having friends and/or family around. By the end of the conservatorship, which is generally the death of the "ward" everything they knew as normal and as a basic human right will have been removed. Keep advocating for Ms. Lee. She needs you and by the looks of things she has a pretty great support network. She will need as many advocates as she can get. For many of us this was just the beginning of the biggest nightmare one could imagine. When you think things couldn't possibly get worse ...prepare yourself for things that you could never imagine. It wont stop until Ms. Lee is penniless or dies. Or......

thank you for your concern regarding this issue. I really appreciate the time you have put into responding to the comments. I think people like yourself will be the ones that will make an impact regarding issues like the one we are discussing here. The death of my father was very sad for us. Perhaps we can prevent other families from having to go through the same pain we (and many others) have gone through......I wouldnt wish it on anyone........ Again, thank you for your support and concern.

Thank you Elaine for your support and words of wisdom...Being a member of NASGA has helped me in many ways during my battle at attempting to keep my father from becoming another victim of the perverse Probate Courts. As you know he died with the "rubber stamp" of approval from the same judge that has sentenced Sue Lee to her fate. I think about him every day..my life has changed as have my daughters'. Watching him die, knowing that he had no choice in how his life ended, still haunts us everyday,,,and every night. My kids and I still have nightmares..............It was so wrong

Thank you for the info...still will be fighting the battle even though my father died at the hands of these people. If you want to talk off line let me know. I am impressed with your level of concern.

This problem is in every county nationwide. The money is the driving power. All the ones that help put our loved ones in their grave are making so much $$ that they are not an easy pack of predators to deal with . All with the courts approval............It is the new genocide.

Many of us have lots of supporters, however due to the power and control that is used to "beat us down" when we object to these barbaric practices, we are ostracized and discredited in every possible (and illegal) way. I do hope that this case brings the needed spotlight on the abuse so many have suffered. My father was one of the many victims of this abusive process. He spent almost 30 years serving this country. He died a broken man. The "guardians" are known to isolate, medicate and loot the estate. We that have been through this dont live under the umbrella of denial anymore. This is a serious and dangerous situation we should ALL be concerned with. Baby Boomers beware....
