I completely agree that any trip to Denmark should definitely include more than Copenhagen! We love exploring smaller towns and quaint little villages and of course finding the Vikings in the field! So to speak. I still haven't been to Ribe, must get there being the oldest town in Denmark! Great post. Cheers from Copenhagen.
Oh! It's very beautiful and what a wonderful sense of accomplishment. I appreciate your honesty and determination. Thank you for sharing with #FarawayFiles. Cheers from Copenhagen Ava!
Great post Vanessa! So important to know as much as you can before engaging in activities that could endanger animals. I can also endorse Wild Seas for whale watching and wildlife tours out of Tromsø in the winter and Lofoten in the summer - run by marine biologists who are trying to educate their visitors about the natural environments and safe practices for whale watching in the area. We spent three days with them in Lofoten and loved it - no whales, but lots of sea eagles and some dolphins!
Happy anniversary! I agree some of the places we've stayed with Airbnb were a little awkward if you thought about it too much, but we just chalked it up to the experience. That may not have been LUXE, but it did look lovely and with comfy beds - much better than wild camping! Thanks for sharing with #FarawayFiles, cheers from Copenhagen, Erin
Ok. I've seen lots of pictures of this and know that I would be drawn to explore it, but as someone who experiences pretty intense fear of heights - do you think it would trigger it up top or are the railings pretty safe feeling? What a beautiful day for you to explore the forest - thanks for sharing with #FarawayFiles, Erin
I'd love to experience a white Norwegian yuletide! The Danes have similar customs, especially for advent. But they eat a roast pork called flæskesteg and duck for Christmas. Do the Norwegians have a version of gløgg? I think I may pass on the lutefisk though! Thanks for sharing. Skål from Copenhagen!
I love your rating system! I will admit I hate those rides where you feet are hanging! I've ridden the one at Knott's Berry Farm and had flats on so had to leave them in the cubbie and road bare foot - I felt soooo exposed and freaked out by it! Maybe if I'd had trainers on it would have been better. You know I wanna try that Viking one. Fun post and great tips! Thanks for sharing with #FarawayFiles, Erin
I could definitely get behind finding some time in Fauske! You know we loved our time in Northern Norway - and meeting you and Simon!! - so anywhere that we could feel little like we were the only ones around would be fantastisk! Thanks for sharing your little slice of Nordland with #FarawayFiles, Erin
Love seeing a post from you on FarawayFiles again Ava! And what a beautiful one. What an amazingly clear day you had for your visit - you can see so far! Your comment about the dead trees hits a little close to home as I am watching updates about wildfires raging in my home state of Oregon right now. So many iconic visits like this will be littered with dead trees for a very long time. Thank you for sharing this gorgeous Smoky Mountain spot with #FarawayFiles, Erin
Every time I see a bobble hat in a photo - I think of you! Haha! Iconic Vanessa! Great list - I have SOME of those, but my raincoat is a Danish brand (of course!) Cheers from Copenhagen, Erin
