Meh... Rice like always, he sees what he wants to see. This post shows the absolute lack of objectivity that Rice has since some time ago. For me, like Jimmy, this is the last time I enter this blog. I used to visit it a couple of times each week some time ago, but this has become an absolute joke. And I do not consider myself a Pentaxian, just a pentax user, I'm not very attached to any brand, but this blog has become a place of misinformation.

I'm with you about the lack of real "new" products by Pentax, even the K50/500 are the same as before, and I'm also even considering switching to another brand, but what I can tell you is that it wont be due to cámeras like the 70D. What I try to say is that middle-level cámeras by Canon or even Nikon won't kill Pentax, if Pentax dies someday, it will be ONLY due their own bad management. I can't see how this 70D could suppose a threat to Pentax, since they always played in a different league than Canon. Like someione said just before, Canon sold the same cámera again and again with the same old 18MP sensor and little to none improvements, and no one complained.

In the end, what can kill Pentax is the lack of lenses (own and other brands) and the lack of a true competitive FF cámera, but not the 70D. In fact, I considere way more interesting the D7100 by Nikon than this 70D.

And there it goes again, Canon/Nikon/Sony releases a new camera (and not a very interesting one, by the way) and you claim Pentax is dead, bla blab blah...
Seriously, you should calm down a little. I remember you once had a bit of a prespective view, and could see a bit more than that. And even if Pentax dies someday, I can assure you it won't be due to a mid-level cámera by Canon. I Can understand someomne complaining about the lack of new and interesting lenses by Pentax, and even the delay on the wished FF, but crying for the 70D? Meh...

Discontinuing K mount would be so pointless and stupid that I do not even consider it can happen even in the worst case scenario. There is no point in discontinuing now the K mount, not much to improve, and a lot to lose.

Ricehigh, what you must understand is that this type of hype is not very good for the brand. Everytime something like this happens, and then, as usual, is shown to be false, some pentaxians who where completely hyped get angry and decide to finally switch brands. Also, I dont know about other people, but I'm really tired of all this rumors. Yes, I agree, like many other Pentaxians, that Pentax needs to do something (launch FF, expand their lens lineup, etc.), but we cannot get that excited for every single rumour we find.

In your case, you are giving too much credit to this lately rumours for some reason, while all this situation with Svitek is most probably fake, you should try to cool down and check things with perspective, don't let the passion overwhelm you because there are many people who follows your blog, and at this rate, you will end losing credibility wich is never a good thing.

Leave the rumours as they are, rumours (and rumours of Pentax means only 4-5% of them lead to something real), and let's get excited once the brand announces officially something, because like we have seen in the late years, it's the only source we can trust.

I may be wrong (in fact, I hope I'm wrong), but I really think this is all only a bunch of lies of Svitek trying to get his 5 minutes of attention on the internet. If he is really trying a cámera that is not yet on production, he would have signed a NDA, so he could not say a thing about it. And also, ¿anyone knew Svitek from before this? He looks like a young photographer who is beggining and have little to none work published, and his galleries are not very overwhelming either. ¿Why Pentax would send him a cámera to test? I think they would chose some Japanese or asian Photographers, or at least more experienced.

Like I said, I hope I'm wrong and the Pentax FF will be released soon, but I cant trust anything about Svitek, so I will stay skeptical.

Aye, I also thought at the beggining it was a fake, but then I saw the same on Pentax Spain... I suppose the images are the same as the ones in dpreview because probably are using the same stock image Pentax provided, and for Pentax it's easier to release a photoshoped version of the same image than make a new one.
