Through all the struggles to get your son the help and support he needs and deserves you have indeed become an expert. An expert in how to access the resources and services that he requires and also an expert having done so much research so you are ready for meetings with the professionals. But more importantly you are a loving, kind, caring and nurturing person who makes a super Mum - whether that is being an expert in the traditional sense I'm not sure but certainly has driven you to understand the additional needs your big lad has as much as you possibly can. I can see how all these meetings must be draining but I know I've said it before but your family is very lucky to have you. Hope the transition to the secondary school has settled down a bit this week. xx #thesatsesh xx
Sounds like you had a fab trip up north - love that you did 2p slot machines and that the little man got to enjoy a bath - it really is the simple pleasures! xx
Thanks for featuring twin 2! It's lovely to have Pointshoot back and the new format sounds good! Thanks for hosting xx
Sounds like a lovely week - I too enjoy sitting out in the summer evenings. I always find the goodbyes to students a little emotional - I thought it would get easier but it doesn't seem to! xx #thesatsesh
Such lovely pics - I agree about this '18 summer thing' - talk about forcing things! Take every day as it comes I say xxx #Pointshoot xx
Lovely ideas here! We had the sprinkler out today and I took the eldest to an outdoor pool. I may add pond dipping to the list for my lot. Have a fab summer xx
What a fabulous pic - love the colours of the beach huts against the backdrop of a moody sky. Thanks for hosting #Pointshoot xx
Such a spot-on post. i was nodding along to lots of this and then got to the last point and thought this is what I need to help my son with - having alternatives to lashing out - I suggest a couple of things but this is a GREAT list - am bookmarking - thank you xx #thesatsesh
Excellent advice for children with ASD. Parents of particularly sensitive/anxious children can heed this advice too. Our son is already getting very wittery about his new teacher next year - it's the first time he will have had a male teacher and he is worried. I find he often struggles with the lack of routine in the summer - a visual timetable sounds like a great idea. I may do that for him for the 6 weeks off! I hope you all have a lovely summer and big lad is able to look forward to the new school with minimal stress. #thesatsesh xx
What a beautiful picture and remarkable and inspiring story! #thesatsesh xx
