It's because families like ours are stretched so thin that these things happen: so sorry for Star, but she will be fine, and everyone in the family did the best they could. It's the services that should be feeling guilty xx

I didn't realise just what you are dealing with, it puts everything into perspective, and you have every right to write about it as much as you want on here - I think that the more you write, the more it will help others, in so many ways xx

The French school bags look like the satchels I used to carry to school. They look smart and practical too. Oe of the biggest differences I notice is that schools in the UK tend to have canteens where you can get a hot meal at lunch time, sometimes for free if your parent's income is low. I don't know of any schools in Ireland that provide that

I had a few observations too about the 'heatwave' but it finished before I had time to publish :) Oddly enough now I'm older I find it hard to cope with temperatures over 20 degrees and am given to moaning and hiding in the shade...

I haven't had a passport for years, and don't know what colour to get next ;) But I hope it will be painless, when I do! Glad it worked out for you x
