I love this! I hate bloggers with those "lifestyle" blogs who try to make it look like their home is a catalog and they only frequent all the hip, interesting places every weekend. It just looks so fake and BORING. I'm interested in REAL people. Also, WTF at the term "lifestyle" blog? I'm not a huge fan of GOMI, but I do chuckle at their description of lifestyle blogs: "You don't know how to live. They can help." Especially when it comes to lifestyle blogs written by women in their early-to-mid 20s. Ummmmm ... yeah. Maybe live some more life first?

Sorry to hear you didn't have the race you wanted, but kudos to you for pushing through and finishing when things got rough!!

This is so timely, just today I accused a co-worker of stealing one of MY pens (that I brought from home). I think they are the retractable version of the Pilot Precise. I need to start keeping them in my drawer and not the pen cup on top of my desk.

Thank you for sharing this. I am not a parent, but I can imagine being that sleep that deprived, and feeling a lack of control, and frustration, that the mind would go to crazy places. You are human. You were in a very trying situation. You can't control how you feel, or what someone else (in this case, an infant) does, you can only control how you respond, which you did.

Beautiful post. My husband and I have talked a lot about adoption being the way we have a family, and I've often thought about fostering as well. Of course when I tell people, they immediately have knee-jerk negative reactions, and I feel like they want to talk me out of it. But this speaks to the heart, and reminds me why I felt adoption/fostering was right for us in the first place.

I have purchased three race photos. The first one was from a race my husband and I did together, and it's of me crossing the finish line one second before him. The second and third were from my first marathon. I don't think any of them were $34 though. But they weren't cheap.

Looks fun! I debated doing a local 5K on the 4th, because I love racing on holidays, but checked the weather and decided against it.

Right now I'm rocking the running shorts & running socks tanlines. I alternate between short sleeve, sleeveless and tanks on top so I don't have quite as bad tan lines up there. And for some reason even though they are exposed during the majority of my runs, my calves don't seem to be getting tan at all. Although they must be ... I have a sock line.
