hi Vivi, a heart-rending post! sorry you feel like a failure; I doubt that you are. I am not sure if people are right or wrong when they say that when your kids hate you it's coz your'e a good parent, but what I can say is that I am sure that like most teenagers yours are finding their way in the world and sometimes (most times) parents bear the brunt of their attempts. The good news is that on the whole they do eventually step into adulthood and all the anger leaves, and they become good friends. I recall fighting hell-out with my mother when I was a teenager, and yet we became best of friends once I reached my 20's. The only comfort I can offer right now is; stand firm. From what I have read, I am certain your are a good Mom. In time the kids will be adults and all your efforts will bear fruit. I remember many a slammed door when my daughter was a teenager, today we get on great and she is a wonderful person. sending big hugs your way from London. warm regards Cindy @notjustagranny p.s. I also just figured out how to leave comments on your blog! at last :) a never ending journey of learning! :)

Wild Junket : Royalty Living at the Ashford Castle Hotel

Hi Nellie, thanks for your reply. Ah, yes there are some truly amazing castles to visit in Ireland. I am completly addicted to castles..... some folks say "seen one & youv'e seen them all" to which I strongly disagree....they are all unique and just marvellous. My favourites are those that are tumble down....an air of mystery resides. Blarney Castle is also a great visit as are many more. Hope you manage to go back soon. :)
