Thanks for all the comments - I'll try to be a little more responsive on when an issue is reported. Have a great holiday everyone!

Hi Everyone,

I'm the one largely responsible for keeping the site running. As you guys probably noticed, Equality on Trial was never a particularly fast site, and towards the end of November it was becoming so slow as to be unusable. The site was also developing strange quirks such as edits to the code not appearing ever. EoT was running on an older version of Linux, and there were several issues that couldn't be fixed short of upgrading the server. We made the decision to move EoT to a more modern back end.

The new server fixed a lot of the problems the site was having that might not have been totally visible to the users. Hopefully, you have at least noticed it loads extremely fast now. Unfortunately, when we moved the site we brought over a bunch of broken code that had been inactive due to the server issues. These have slowly been getting stamped out, and I deeply apologize that your guys' experience over the last three weeks has been less than optimal.

Within the next few days, you guys will stop having issues and will find the site to be the best it's ever been. As an added bonus, the new back end is much more capable of handling giant spikes in traffic so in the event of another DOMA decision, the site won't crash every three seconds.

We've moved the links to the support page around some to hopefully make them more visible. I get an email every time someone submits there, and that's the best way to make sure someone notices there's something wonky.
